Petr has worked in a wide range of company sizes – from large corporations to several startups. However, he is a born project manager who knows his job perfectly and has a natural gift for passing on his experience.
Petr, you joined us as a project manager. Have you always been one?
I have to admit that I do. After graduating from university, I started working as a project manager and this job has always been fulfilling and enjoyable for me. I started as a junior project manager at Home Credit while I was still at school. Within the project office, I was responsible for preparing project documentation, reports for management, documents for approval and other things.
That sounds a lot like “paperwork”…
Yes, this stage was a lot about administration. But I chinese overseas british database soon moved on to a larger project as a Test Manager. It was a project for Kazakhstan, which lasted an estimated two years. At a certain stage of the project, there was a lot of pressure on the deadline, so it was necessary to coordinate development, internal tests and customer tests at the same time. We had 10 test environments and at one point 15 thousand bugs. My job was to coordinate who would test which functionalities, when and where. It was an unforgettable experience. For half a year, every evening, when the tests were finished, I started preparing a 20-page report on which environment specific bugs had to be fixed.
I had the opportunity to implement Tableau, which I now appreciate very much because Enehano is, among other things, a supplier of this data visualization tool.
It seems like you’re tenacious. What projects followed?
This was followed by projects for Asian countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam. They primarily concerned data warehouses, where the goal was to have the same view of data in individual countries from the group’s perspective and at the same time not to lose the possibility of specific process settings within individual countries. I had the opportunity to implement Tableau, which I now appreciate very much, because Enehano is also a supplier of this data visualization tool, among other things.
You have gained interesting experiences and many will netflix dominate the entertainment world? career opportunities. Therefore, the obvious question is why you decided to leave.
is not easy, not to build a relationship. I missed openness and greater flexibility in decision-making.
Then, I took advantage of the time when GDPR was being implemented and there was a huge demand for designers. I joined Volkswagen Financial Services for a year and a half long project.
After that, I tried out several startups and smaller projects.
Why did you finally decide on Enehano?
Everyone tries to keep employees satisfied, Enehano supports professional development. I appreciate that. We are currently working on introducing standardization into project management. I enjoy being part of the transformation, where we are creating a new process from scratch. I believe that these steps will help many people in their work.
Where would you like to move with Enehan?
I’ve never been a line manager, I haven’t had my own team thailand data and I haven’t “educated” people, but I’d like to try it. I like to teach and pass on experience. There’s not much time for this during the project itself, I focus on other things.
We need to ask ourselves, “Why are we doing this?” “What will it bring us?” and thereby validate that the steps we are taking are meaningful.
What do you perceive as the most important thing about the project?
What I personally consider to be the most important thing in today’s technological world is that the project should deliver business value. And that can change during the course of the project, for example. And that is why it is necessary to ask “Why are we doing this?” “What will it bring us?” and thereby validate that the steps we are taking are meaningful. This leads to two things:
Petře, thank you for the interview and we keep our fingers crossed for the building of processes.
