On-page SEO is everything we can do on our pages to follow the guidelines that Google sets for us and thereby position ourselves where we deserve or where Google allows us.
This is the easiest part of web positioning since we control it 100% and “what is valid and what is not” is quite clear within the parameters that Google manages.
Among the algorithms that most affect this part is Google Panda, which has been with us for many years and what it does is, roughly speaking, penalize sites that have:
- Duplicate content, whether copied or simply not adding value.
- Pages with little content, known as “thin content”, prioritizing pages with more quantity (and quality) of text.
All of this has resulted in a very significant change on the web, since five years ago articles of about 200 words and many updates were written.
Now the web has turned to super long greece email list articles (this one is already well over 1,000 words).
2.- Off-page SEO and its algorithms
Off-page SEO is much more technical, more obscure and more important, as it has to do with what other sites say about us.
It is based on links, and the quality parameters are also clear: the more high-quality links there are on a web page, the more relevance it will have, but of course, the “quality” parameter is very subjective…
The most important algorithm at this point is Google Penguin , which penalizes a phenomenon such as link farms and automatic links, so will netflix dominate the entertainment world? much so On-page SEO that a few years ago they were used to position well and now to do negative SEO to the competition.
Another fact I want to give you: Off-page SEO has a weight of approximately 60-70% in the total Google algorithm, and if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense, since, a priori, it is an uncontrollable part and it comes to say “what others say about us”, which is much more reliable than “what we say about ourselves”.
3.- Extra ball: Local SEO and rich formats
For some time now, local SEO has been gaining more and more strength in web positioning, so much so that the SERP (search engine results page) changes depending on the location we search in, that is, Google results are different in Madrid and Barcelona.
Because of this, there are businesses maldivian lads that directly try to position themselves only for the local market, forgetting about the general market.
And local SEO makes a lot of sense On-page SEO if you are a business in a certain city and you don’t sell online, right?
On the other hand, there are rich formats , here is a proof.
