How did Kika start her career in IT?

For a long time, I’ve been curious about how a girl who only knew Salesforce theoretically rose to the position of Head of Marketing at Enehano Solutions, which also implements Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Pardot, and many other technology tools in large companies.

Kiko, we met at the 8-week Salesforce administration course from Women in Tech.

Did you know Salesforce before?

About halfway through. I heard about Salesforce at a university in the US where I studied Marketing and Business Management. We discussed a lot of Salesforce case studies and its use in practice.

When I returned to the Czech Republic, my friend told  job seekers database  about this course (he “forgot” to mention that he was one of the lecturers). But the opportunity to participate came at the right time. I was not happy at work and wanted to try something new. The course was fantastic. We covered the basics of administration, Data Sharing, Reporting and Lightning App Builder. I was completely absorbed. The lecturers were very helpful and my concerns about not knowing the platform turned out to be unnecessary.

At the meeting where we received our graduation certificate, I had the opportunity to talk to Enehan founders Jirka Mach and Michal Peška about possible cooperation. I took advantage of this opportunity and started working at Enehan as a project administrator and at the same time building marketing and strategy together with Zuzka Maděrová, who was the “Expansion and Marketing Director” at the time. At that time, we started to focus more systematically on Enehan’s marketing.

What started as a test to see if I had what it took turned into a job offer and this amazing career experience.

I would like to return to study in the US. How would you compare our

Slovak universities to the American one?

It’s a different approach. I got there through a partnership  what are the benefits of building a brand community? program. I would compare the program to Erasmus, but this one only covers tuition fees. It was a very intense experience for me, where I slept a maximum of 5 hours a day and spent the rest either preparing for school, studying or attending lectures.

Students who did not get into prestigious American schools gathered at the university, but were still very competitive. I have never experienced that in Slovakia. How many times did I have trouble getting my point across, because the activity is part of the assessment. Another part is the tests, and it is not enough to write them at 90%, because if the majority of students write them at 90%, the assessment is adjusted according to the group’s results. The teachers are people from companies who share with the students experiences or problems that they solve in the company, how they approach the problem, and we had the opportunity to come up with a better solution.

It’s a huge pressure. On the one hand, I like the connection between companies and schools, how they educate potential future employees and how it doesn’t happen that a student has some subjects in the “unnecessary” box. On the other hand, many people there can’t work with this pressure and take antidepressants.

In both the Czech Republic and Slovakia, students operate thailand data  in a kind of safe vacuum. They don’t get too involved in debates, and their school results don’t have much of an impact on their careers.

That must have been very challenging. How did your career develop at Enehan?
Zuzka Maděrová and I were working on a marketing strategy, and then COVID-19 came and we had to move everything online and adapt some plans to the situation.

It was a great experience. We managed to have a panel discussion of company directors . We took advantage of the special times and started organizing the Digital Transformation Summit, the third year of which will take place this year, on May 12th. For the first time, we will have the opportunity to meet the participants in person at the Prague Congress Center. We had really great feedback, so we believe that this year’s year will be even more successful.
